2010 Gympie Saloon Car Club, Gympie Speedway site design.
The Gympie Speedway site is quite the labour of love. Relying on the loyal support of local and visiting race fans to make homage to the Mothar Mountain landmark on a regular basis, has allowed the Gympie Speedway to survive and thrive throughout the years. We were approached to redesign their site. The overall design with its content and delivery posed a great time challenge, but the results are worth the efforts of all concerned. Also, in the process of collecting and documenting contemporary racing at the venue, we destroyed an expensive 'L' series Canon lens as a result of a heavy clump of clay depositing itself at great velocity upon the protective filter and then beyond through the front element. It underpins the dangerous, yet strangely intoxicating attraction motorsport holds for spectators and participants alike. |
